How It Works
Welcome to our Tattoo Apprentices Program! After you enroll and pay your deposit, you’ll receive a detailed welcome packet containing assignments and drawing exercises to help you start your journey. The remaining tuition will be due the week before classes start. During the program, you’ll receive all the necessary tattoo equipment and acquire vital knowledge for safe tattooing, along with the licensing required for your career. Classes are held from Monday - Thursday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Students can stay late to finish and tattoos started that day, with extra lab hours available on weekends for additional practice ( not required). Prepare to boost your confidence and gain hands-on experience in a professional tattoo shop!
Equipment Included
- Each student will receive a travel case filled with professional, industry-standard tattoo equipment! At the Tattoo Institute of SWFL we use only the industries top brands.
- Students will start Week 1 tattooing on synthetic practice skin included in each kit along with a full synthetic practice arm.
- Sanitation and all disposable supplies will be provided.

Class Schedule:
Classes are Mon-Thur 9:30 am - 3:30 pm (required)
Students are allowed to stay later to finish any started projects.
(Optional) Students will have opportunities to come in on weekends into the tattoo shop to work on projects and get shop experience.
Week 1
In week one, students will dive into the essential safety protocols surrounding Bloodborne Pathogens, ensuring they understand the importance of hygiene and safety in the tattooing process. They will also receive their licensing to tattoo, marking a significant milestone in their journey. Classes will combine hands-on learning with theory, allowing students to start using their machines on practice skin, setting the foundation for their skills in tattooing.
Week 2 - 10
Welcome to our tattoo school! In Weeks 2 to 10, each class will kick off with engaging morning discussions and essential theory, followed by hands-on tattoo lessons. We prioritize getting you acquainted with your machines right from the start, giving you the chance to develop your unique style with the guidance of a professional tattoo artist. Starting on synthetic skin and progressing to tattooing clients at the school, this immersive experience will equip you with the skills and confidence needed to excel in the art of tattooing.
Weeks 9 - 10
During weeks 9 and 10, our mornings will focus on mastering the skills needed to secure a position at a tattoo shop. We'll guide students in building compelling portfolios that showcase their artwork and artistic journey, essential for making a strong impression in the tattoo industry. This hands-on approach will prepare to stand out and succeed in your pursuit of a tattoo career.

Applicants must be 18 years of age
Please complete this application and share some information about yourself. We will review your application and contact you with an acceptance letter. The total course fee is $6600, which includes all the necessary tattoo equipment needed. A $500 deposit will be required upon acceptance to secure your spot, and the remaining tuition will be billed to you the week before the start date. Once we receive your deposit, you'll receive a welcome packet with drawing exercises to begin with. We look forward to you joining us at the Tattoo Institute of SWFL.
